Bahiagrass - Tifton 9

Tifton 9 is an improved variety of Pensacola Bahiagrass that was developed by Dr. Glen Burton to produce more forage. In addition to its higher forage production, Tifton 9 exhibits greater vigor during the seedling stage, has longer leaves, and offers digestibility that is comparable to that of Pensacola. The enhanced seedling vigor of Tifton 9 enables quicker stand establishment and provides a better ability to compete with weeds. Overall, Tifton 9 Bahiagrass is considered a highly durable pasture grass for horses.
