Bibb Lettuce

Bibb lettuce is a crisp, easy-to-grow variety of butterhead lettuce that is compact, tender, and light green, with occasional red spots. The heads of Bibb lettuce often self-blanch in the center. This variety is ideal for farmers' markets and home gardeners, as it thrives in both heat and cool weather. Bibb lettuce is named after John Bibb, a Kentucky farmer and amateur horticulturist who developed the variety in the 1860s.
