This is one of the earliest crookneck squash varieties that continues to produce abundantly. This compact type yields heavy crops of firm, buttery yellow fruits with a narrow, swan-like, curved neck. The creamy flesh is tender, mild, and sweet, becoming deeper yellow and warty as it matures. For the best flavor and texture, harvest when the squash is 5 to 6 inches long. It is excellent when fried, steamed, baked, or sautéed, making it a perfect choice for home gardens and fresh markets.
