Hungarian Hot Wax Peppers

The Hungarian Wax Pepper, as its name indicates, originated in Hungary. Also known as the Hungarian Hot Wax Pepper, it is often confused with the similar-looking banana pepper, but it is significantly hotter. These peppers have a creamy yellow, translucent color and possess thin skin with thick flesh because they are harvested while still immature. The Hungarian Wax Pepper is typically about 8 inches long and 2 inches thick when picked. If allowed to mature fully, these peppers can grow larger and turn red, which further increases their heat level.
