Jamestown is an early-maturing, high-yielding, short-statured, awned cultivar of soft red winter wheat. It is resistant to major insect and disease pests prevalent in the soft wheat growing regions, particularly the Hessian fly, stripe rust, and fusarium head blight. The plant features blue-green foliage and spikes. On average, Jamestown plants reach a height of 31 inches, and they possess excellent straw strength. This cultivar is widely adapted, making it suitable for producers from the southern corn belt to the deep south and throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Jamestown stands out for its early maturity and resistance to diseases and pests.
