Description:

Morton oats are a cool-season grass that grows quickly and is highly productive when planted in either spring or late summer through fall. The kernels are large, uniform, and have white hulls. Planting can take place from mid to late August until October in the fall. This variety is resistant to smut and moderately resistant to stem rust and crown rust, but it is moderately susceptible to barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV). The forage quality is exceptional when the plants are lush and green, and even when mature or frozen, the forage quality remains high.
