The Muncher Slicer Burpless cucumber is the most famous and popular among the burpless varieties. It produces fruit that measures 7 to 9 inches in length on disease-resistant plants. Plant the seeds in late spring, once the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed to a depth of 6 inches. Space the plants in hills, 4 feet apart. When the seedlings reach 3 inches in height, thin them out, leaving four plants per hill. Incorporating well-rotted manure or compost into the soil where the seeds will be planted is highly beneficial.
