Orchard Grass - Potomac

Potomac Orchardgrass is an older variety of orchardgrass that is widely used as a cost-effective alternative in pasture blends, as well as in short-term hay mixtures and cover crop blends. It is important to note that orchardgrass pastures take longer to establish than traditional ryegrass pastures; therefore, effective grazing management after sowing is essential for successful establishment. Under optimal growing conditions, establishment can take approximately 6 to 7 weeks for spring sowing and around 10 to 12 weeks for autumn sowing.
