Shogoin Turnip

The Shogoin Turnip is a traditional Japanese turnip that is valued for both its roots and tops. These plants mature quickly, reaching a height of approximately 20 inches, and develop round roots that are about 4 inches in diameter. Shogoin turnips are often pickled, added to soups, braised, or used in salads. Germination begins within 5 to 7 days, and because of their rapid growth, they also make an excellent fall crop.
