Sugar Beets

Sugar beets are an excellent crop for sugar production and serve as a fantastic dual-purpose plant for food plots. Deer enjoy the leafy tops as forage, and they will also dig up the sugary roots to eat in late fall and throughout the winter months. Each sugar beet can reach a mature weight of 2 to 4 pounds, providing a solid food and energy source for deer. Cooler weather enhances the sugar content, making them an even more appealing food source.
