Snap peas are best enjoyed fresh, and there’s nothing quite like picking them directly from the vine. The 'Sugar Snap' variety, which has won the All-America Selections award, offers a bountiful harvest of thick, crunchy 3-inch pods filled with flavorful peas. These vines can tolerate some heat, so they thrive well when grown climbing on poles or a trellis, reaching heights of 6 to 8 feet. For an extended harvest, sow seeds 2 to 3 times, with 7 to 10 days between each sowing.
