Switchgrass Blackwell

Blackwell Switchgrass is a perennial, tall grass native to lowland areas and well adapted to most of the United States, with the exception of California and the Pacific Northwest. One distinguishing feature of switchgrass is the small tuft of hair at the point where the blades attach to the sheath. This grass is commonly used for pasture and can produce high-quality hay if mowed before seed head formation. It is important not to graze it closer than 5 to 7 inches during the growing season.
