This heirloom variety produces high yields of spineless, tender, ribbed pods with excellent flavor. The pods can be canned, fried, roasted, or boiled. It is best to harvest the pods when they are about 3 inches long, as they become more flavorful when small, even though they can grow much larger. The plants continue to grow until the cool weather of fall and can reach heights of 6 feet or more in regions with a long, warm growing season.
